Yesterday, a staff member discovered a noose hanging from a structure in a loading dock at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering. UNCG, NC A&T, and City of Greensboro police quickly responded, investigated the incident, and identified an outside contractor working overnight as the individual responsible. This individual’s employment has been terminated and he is no longer allowed at our facility. Acts like this will not be tolerated on our campus or within our community. It is important that we are always vigilant and never take lightly the words, deeds, and symbols of hate and intolerance. We will always treat such unacceptable incidents seriously.
