Dear Colleagues,
It is with the deepest respect and, above all else, tremendous gratitude that I announce to you today that Charlie Maimone, Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs, has accepted an outstanding new opportunity to serve as Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at NC State University. We are pleased that Charlie will remain in the UNC System, and I know that he will provide to NC State the expertise and vision that has made him such a valuable leader here at UNCG.
On a personal level, I, like many here at UNCG, will miss working every day with Charlie. He has played an integral role in building our success and shaping our direction. But I am confident that our team has the depth, experience, and commitment required to continue moving forward and executing our plans effectively while we seek a permanent successor. We will quickly begin a national search and will make other announcements about interim leadership shortly. Charlie will remain with UNCG until Sept. 20 to help implement our transition plans. He begins his new role at NC State on Sept. 30.
I know NC State hired the best candidate, and I look forward to watching Charlie continue to succeed and make our entire system better and stronger. I congratulate my colleague and friend, and I can’t thank him enough for being a wonderful strategic partner to me and for his service to our institution.
