Dear Spartans,

Welcome back! It’s energizing to see our campus alive again with the start of a new academic year. Whether you spent the summer working, traveling, learning, or simply catching your breath, I hope you’ve returned recharged and ready for the opportunities ahead.

What makes UNCG truly special isn’t just our programs, our history, or our beautiful campus—it’s you. Our students, faculty, and staff bring this University to life through your curiosity, creativity, and commitment to one another

As we begin the fall semester, I invite you to keep three things in mind:

Pursue growth.
This year, push yourself to explore new ideas, connect with new people, and take on challenges that help you become the best version of yourself. Growth is rarely comfortable but it’s always worthwhile.

Care for yourself and each other.
Our community thrives when we look out for one another. Make time for rest, maintain balance, and extend kindness and understanding. Small gestures of support can have a big impact.

Engage fully.
Be present in your classes, in campus events, and in the life of our city. Join a club, attend a lecture, and cheer on your fellow Spartans. The more you put into this community, the more it will give back.

Thank you for being an essential part of our UNCG family.

As always …
Go, Spartans!
